The walleye and monster perch are hitting on Oneida lake. The fall fishery might just be the best kept secret in Oswego county.I grew up fishing Oneida Lake with my father, long before there were salmon in Pulaski.Walleye, perch and crappie are abundant all year long.Ice fishing too,is very good as one of the oldest hatcheries in the country(the walleye hatchery at Constantia,N.Y. keeps the lake replentished..Casting at night from shore with floating stick baits with the wind in your face is usually productive. From a boat, find the dropoff for walleye and the weedline for perch. Live minnows work best for the perch.Bucktail jigs and worms work for walleye.Hand tied jigs and all live bait are available here at the shop. Also, the South Sandy pond is picking up for the walleye.Look for the stone bar dropoffs. Also, the Salmon River resovoir is still producing crappie at night.Stop in for your minnows and all related tackle, including expert info.We do have guides for any one interested in Walleye, perch and crappie. We will be buying panfish and offering icefishing guides again this winter.Make your reservations early.
